About the Academy
At Dove's Grooming Academy, it is our goal to fuel our students with the proper knowledge to care for their pets either in a salon, or in the comfort of their home.

Dove Academy of Pet Grooming & Certification offers a comprehensive, hands-on certification course designed to transform aspiring individuals into fully knowledgeable pet stylists, pet bathers, or pet parents. With a focus on real-world application, experienced mentors will guide students and pet parents to gain expertise in various grooming techniques, animal care, hygiene, and customer service.

The Professional Pet Stylist Certification
We offer an extensive, hands-on training program to equip aspiring individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in the pet grooming industry. This comprehensive course covers all the aspects of pet grooming, from basic techniques to advanced styling, alongside essential training in pet health and safety. Under the instruction of our experienced mentors, students will work with a variety of pets and learn about topics such as, but not limited to, proper equipment care and handling, canine anatomy, psychology and behavior, bathing and drying skills, breed-specific grooming, and the importance of maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for pets.
Students who enroll in " The Professional Pet Stylist" certification course will engage in 26 weeks of coursework and hands-on grooming experience. To earn their certification, students must complete a total of 500 hours of training.
It is a tuition-based course, with all educational material and tools included.

The Skilled Bather
Certification
When grooming a pet, the bath and drying process is as important as the actual trim or haircut. We offer a comprehensive training program to prepare individuals to become skilled, confident, and certified dog bathers. This hands-on, curriculum-based course covers all aspects of dog bathing, from bathing and drying techniques to essential grooming practices.
Students will learn the proper techniques for bathing dogs of all sizes and coat types, including selection of the right product, handling different skin conditions, proper drying techniques, and maintaining hygiene standards. In addition, the course emphasizes the importance of recognizing health signs in dogs, such as skin issues, allergies, and behavioral cues, ensuring that students are well-versed in pet safety protocols during the bathing process.
Students who enroll in “The Skilled Bather" certification course will engage in 17 weeks of coursework and hands-on bathing experience. To earn their certification, students must complete a total of at least 300 hours of training.
It is a tuition-based course, with all educational material and tools included.

At Home Maintenance for Pet Parents
At Bark Avenue, we understand that maintaining your pet’s salon-quality look at home can be a challenge. Dogs will be dogs, and for many breeds, this can lead to issues with their skin and coat. That’s why we’ve created the “At Home Coat Maintenance” course – a personalized program designed to help pet parents care for their pets' coats between professional grooming appointments.

This course will guide you through the essential techniques for brushing, detangling, and maintaining a healthy coat tailored specifically to your pet’s breed, coat type, and needs. You’ll learn the best practices for preventing matting and promoting overall skin health, all while keeping your dog looking and feeling their best.

Our expert team at Bark Avenue will provide personalized instructions, ensuring you’re equipped with the right tools and techniques to keep your pet's coat in top condition, helping to prolong the results of their bath or grooming session. Whether you’re looking to improve the health of your dog’s coat or simply want to maintain that freshly groomed look at home, this course will give you the knowledge and confidence to keep your pet's fur in fabulous shape.
​For the last two classes of the course, we will ask you to bring your pet with you to practice what you learn.​
Classes will be held in 1 hours sessions twice a week over 3 weeks.
